Video Brand Building & Development

Do you have a Company? Does your company have an online presence? If you answered no to that last question, you can plan on being out of work in the near future.

Charlene Li

Charlene Yi, founder of the Altimeter Group, states that Companies who do not get on the social media bandwagon soon within three to five years will not survive. ?

Now that s scary.

Imagine your business as road kill. The empty office. Ex-employees looking at you with watery, puppy eyes, silently asking why. Why didn t you create an online presence like all your competitors? Why couldn t you figure out a good way to use Facebook? Why weren t you smart enough to keep me out of the unemployment line?

What will you do if you don t have a practice? Is there someone you can go work for? Maybe you buddy from college has a place for you? Oh, you d rather grow a second head than work for that clown? Okay then, what are your options?

Truth is, most people will consider you a chowderhead if you loose your business and won t WANT you working for them. It s the ultimate black mark in the business world.

Hey, look at this loser. He wasn t smart enough to keep his business afloat. ?

We re not trying to be cruel. We just really want you to get the point of this article. And that point is Everyone is moving online, and you sticking your head in the sand will not change that fact.

Change can be frightening. It s hard to try something new when the old ways are still working for you. But the writing is on the wall, my friend, and if you do not heed the signs and portents, you are dooming yourself to life-altering failure.

Podiatrists, chemical engineers, free-lance writers, building inspectors, dentists, veterinarians, contractors, photographers, lawyers, psychologists, and bridge builders all have valuable information to share.

But it s not enough to wave your diploma around and expect people to be impressed. A Master s Degree does not carry the clout it once did. Hundreds of thousands of people have the very same credentials that you do. What are you going to do that will show YOU are better than THEY are?

You d better think up something pretty fancy to GET OUT from the crowd.

The key to your online presence, your online reputation, is YOU. Your brand is built around your personality, your unique slant on the world, and the way you do business. It s your RockStar Identity.

You ve got to show how wonderful YOU are. Show us why we should do business with you instead of Bob Smith. And don t do it by telling us how BAD Bob is. Do it by telling us how GREAT you are. Tell us in your own words so we can get a feel for who you are and the way you operate.

Once you ve got your brand in place, you MUST take steps to protect that brand at all costs. And if you build your Rock Star Identity, that protection policy will naturally fall into place.

By showing the world the glory of you, you are also building a sheltering wall around your brand. You will act as your own insurance policy against callous bloggers or thoughtless comments.

So the good news is you don t have to be considered a chowderhead by your peers. Grab the bull by the horns and attack this online world head on! Instead of being a terrible warning, be a shining example of how people can learn and grow with the times.
